An opportunity has arisen to work in a dynamic and forward thinking transport planning team in East London.



We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person to help deliver Havering’s Smarter Travel Strategy.  Working within a small team, you will be responsible for delivering a broad range of activities and events to encourage residents, schools and businesses to make Smarter Travel choices.  One of your main work areas will be helping the Borough’s 90 schools to develop their travel plans and you will also assist with the organisation of popular events such as Walk on Wednesdays.



You will have a track record of devising and delivering imaginative projects, on time and to budget.  You will need to demonstrate experience of developing information resources and marketing campaigns as well as an up to date understanding of issues relating to smarter travel, including current policy.  Experience of organising events and developing travel plans would be a significant advantage, as would be an ability to analyse data and record the results.



We need someone who can monitor progress on projects, undertake research, produce written reports and take minutes, often within tight deadlines.  It’s a diverse role where the activities can vary hugely each day. You will need to be adaptable and able to change direction or focus quickly.

This post is offered on a full time, fixed term basis and will involve some working at evenings and weekends.
