Noise maps and noise policy plans aim to control noise levels in urban areas

The Government has published proposals for a noise management strategy for England as well as new data to help road and rail operators decide on ways to deal with the impact of noise in the larger urban areas near major roads and main line railways.

The new Noise Policy Statement for England (NPSE) sets out the long term vision of Government noise policy in urban areas. A series of online maps has been produced, allowing postcode searches for noise levels across a wide range of English ctowns...
