The first of six new Class 395 high speed trains due to come into service with Southeastern in December 2009, has been constructed at Hitachi’s factories in Japan and is currently undergoing testing.
Dubbed ‘Javelins’, the high speed trains will operate under Southeastern on the Channel Tunnel Rail Link High Speed 1 line between Ashford and London St Pancras international, where they will be capable of travelling at 186 mph.
