New legislation in France will require car parks to be covered by solar panels. The requirement will apply to both new and existing parking lots with space for at least 80 vehicles.
The provisions form part of French president Emmanuel Macron’s plan to invest in renewables. The plan aims to multiply the amount of solar energy produced in the country by a factor of 10, and to double the power from land-based wind farms.
