Budget cuts mean Essex Police will no longer tackle parking issues

Budget cuts have led to Essex Police announcing today that it can no longer deal with minor parking offences, such as parking across driveways.The county’s chief constable Stephen Kavanagh told the BBC that he had lost 700 officers due to budget cuts and at least 500 more would go as the force looks to save £60m. He said that a number of police stations in the county would also close. The force currently employs 2,999 officers, 377 specials, 254 police community support officers...
