Private Members Bill proposes free hospital parking for carers

A Private Members’ Bill seeking to make carers exempt from hospital parking fees has been presented to Parliament. The Bill has been tabled by Julie Cooper, the new Labour MP for Burnley, who came fourth in the ballot of MPs able to propose Private Members’ Bills.

Cooper said she looked through 100 suggestions for her Bill and decided to tackle the cost of parking at hospitals.
