Islington unveils litter reporting app

Islington Council has launched a smartphone app that will enable residents and visitors to report sightings of rubbish, which will then be prioritised by a street cleaning task force.

The Clean Islington app is part of a campaign to reduce dog fouling, overflowing bins, graffiti and fly-tipping. It is available to download for free for iPhone, Android and Windows phone.

The app uses GPS technology and a photograph to give the precise location of the problem.
