Resident charge hike plan dropped by Northamptonshire

A proposal to double the cost of parking permits in Northamptonshire has been withdrawn after opposition from local residents. Last year the County Council consulted with residents on plans to raise the cost of permits from £25 to £60 a year.

Plans to increase the cost of second permits to £80, plus restrictions limiting the number of visitors a resident could have through a scratch-card scheme, have also been dropped.
