Metric showcases payment systems at Parkex

23 May 2014
Seaside parking machines that took a battering during the winter’s storms are being replaced in North Wales by Metric Group.
Gwynedd Council is installing new Metric Elite machines in Barmouth and Criccieth, where older Aura machines took the brunt of severe weather in North Wales. A dozen new Elites, six for each town, will replace the Auras. The new machines will be networked using the Web ASLAN system.
Further down the coast in Aberystwyth, the Metric machines belonging to Ceredigion County Council weathered the storm and remained operational despite the promenade areas being severely damaged.

Swindon-based manufacturer Metric will be showing a range of payment solutions at Parkex, ranging from pay & display and pay-on-foot to mobile phone and ANPR linked systems.

Pay & display innovations include Elite terminals with a new touch-screen customer interface. Various terminals will show Elites in pay-by-plate mode with real-time transaction reporting. There will also be pay-by-space version with a colour screen that runs in solar power mode.
