Pay-as-you go electric car points for York

York has installed the first pay-as-you-go electric vehicle charging points. In addition to the 12 standard charging points in York, a network consisting of six fast charging points has been installed at five locations across city centre car parks and park & ride sites.

The network, installed by York City Council, is publicly accessible, with drivers able to pay by phone or text in a similar way to how they currently pay for parking in council car parks....
