Nottingham City Council is the first, and so far only, British local authority to have introduced a workplace parking levy (WPL). The scheme, introduced in April 2012, was discussed by the Transport Select Committee. The WPL income stream is ring-fenced for transport projects such as new tramlines and improvement to the city’s rail station and its subsidised Link bus network.
