York city centre's streetscape is to undergo a major revamp, which will include more pedestrianised area, new signage and improved cycle parking.
The initiative would see the extension of pedestrian-only zones and the introduction of an advisory 10mph speed limit on some streets. The council has proposed plans to improve the circulation of pedestrians, cars, cyclists and public transport in the city centre. It also aims to restore and enhance street furniture, signage and paving.
