Mini Holland schemes to be piloted beyond London

DfT warns that paint-only cycle lanes will not qualify for Active Travel Fund support

Mini Holland schemes, in which walking and cycling are prioritised over car use, are to be piloted in English towns and cities via the Active Travel Fund. Until now Mini Hollands have only been set up in London.

The Department for Transport has confirmed that some £239m is being made available to support walking and cycling schemes during 2021/02 from the Active Travel Fund, which is broadly in line with the 2020/21 funding pot.
