Future of Scots airport rail link rests on election result

Construction of a £650m rail link to Edinburgh Airport could rest on Labour and the Liberal Democrats continuing to form the partnership government after next May's Parliamentary elections.

The Scottish Parliament last week voted by 69 votes to 30 to approve the general principles of the Edinburgh Airport Rail Link Bill. A further 20 MSPs abstained from the vote. Voting was on party lines: the Labour and Lib Dems supporting the scheme, the SNP and Greens opposing it and the Conservatives...
