Road traffic in Great Britain rose 0.8 per cent in the year ending March 2019, according to provisional figures published by the DfT.
Total estimated traffic was 328.9 billion vehicle miles.
Car and taxi traffic increased 1.0 per cent to 256.0 billion vehicle and van traffic rose 0.4 per cent to 50.9 billion. Heavy goods vehicle traffic fell 0.1 per cent to 17.0 billion.
