A growing number of cars have sensors designed to detect hazard ahead of them in the road to help drivers avoid collisions. Volkswagen has now developed a system that detects driving hazards coming behind a car.
The ‘Pre-Crash occupant protection system’ being offered as an option to buyers of the VW Arteon has sensors that can detect a potential ‘rear-ending’ incident in addition to risks of collisions detected by the Front Assist and Side Assist systems.
