Derbyshire drops plan to end bus subsidies

Derbyshire County Council has dropped plans to withdraw all support for bus services in the county.

The Labour-controlled council consulted earlier this year on withdrawing funding for supported bus services and community dial-a-bus services from 1 October 2017. 

The supported bus services carry about 4.2 million passengers a year and receive support of £4.2m in 2016/17. In addition, the dial-a-bus receives support of about £689,000.
