Bus operators don’t need vast compensation for franchising

Your editorial stresses the crucial issue of compensation for incumbent bus operators displaced by a franchising system (LTT 13 Nov). I wish to remind LTT readers of what the House of Commons Transport Committee said back in July 2007 in its report on the then draft Local Transport Bill (Ninth Report of Session 2006-7).
