Political battle over Bristol rail revival

Plans to reintroduce passenger rail services to a freight-only line in Bristol are not ambitious enough, according to many of the city’s politicians.

Bristol’s independent mayor George Ferguson is urging city councillors not to jeopardise rail improvements in the conurbation by pushing for a scheme that he says is unaffordable.
