Leeds City Council wants to build a compressed natural gas (CNG) filling station to kickstart the market for CNG-fuelled vehicles in the city.
The council is working with Northern Gas Networks, the company that distributes gas across much of the north of England, on a bid to OFGEM’s Network Innovation Competition (NIC) to part-fund the station.
