Bus passenger numbers in York are continuing to grow, according to figures supplied to the city council by operators. Patronage has risen from 14.1 million in 2012/13 to 14.8 million in 2013/14 and 15.6 million in 2014/15. The council attributes the growth to fare reductions on many routes, a new park-and-ride service from Poppleton Bar, better reliability, and better information, including real-time information at city centre stops.
