Scottish Borders Council has decided against joining a formal road maintenance partnership with other local authorities in South East Scotland for the time being, saying the arrangements could disadvantage the council.
Six local authorities – Edinburgh, Midlothian, West Lothian, East Lothian, Borders and Fife – are exploring the creation of a Limited Liability Partnership (LLP) to oversee shared service delivery in road maintenance.
