York chief’s cycling vision paves way for more female riders

Why is it that more than half of cyclists in the Netherlands are women while in the UK they make up just a quarter of the cycling population? This will be one of the issues that will be discussed at a major new event taking place in York on 30 April.

Women & Cycling will debate how transport planners and engineers can provide facilities that appeal to both men and women. It will explore why women are under-represented in the cycle industry and how this can be rectified.
