The A38 tunnels through Birmingham city centre will close for six weeks from 18 July to allow contractor Amey to conduct the final stage of refurbishment work. The closure between 18 July and 1 September follows a closure last summer. Centro and public transport operators are offering two special price public transport tickets for use during the closure period. Up to 85,000 vehicles pass through the St Chad’s and Queensway tunnels each day.
