Efforts are underway to secure the future of Dundee Airport, which is making losses of over £2m a year.
The airport, located beside the River Tay, is a wholly owned subsidiary of state-owned Highlands and Islands Airport Ltd (HIAL). Like many other small airports Dundee is struggling financially. In recent years it has lost its scheduled services to Birmingham and Belfast and CityJet withdrew the last remaining scheduled service – to London City – in March.
