As editor of a transport journal you may be forgiven for seeking to explain recent Government announcements on roads primarily in terms of changes in transport thinking (‘Roads : a paradigm shift’ LTT 12 Jul). It would be nice if in fact we’d had a proper debate about an appropriate national transport policy in a post-financial crash, post-Climate Act and post-‘peak car’ world.
