The Scottish Parliament has passed a Bill that allows for a new operating company to manage and maintain the existing Forth Road bridge, the Forth Replacement Crossing (currently being under construction), and the connecting roads from the M90 junction 3 Halbeath in Fife to the M9 junction 1A in west Edinburgh. The Bill also dissolves the Forth Estuary Transport Authority that currently manages the Forth Road bridge. A tendering process for the new operator can now get underway.
