The upgraded Croydon Tramlink service has been launched with a 50% increase in frequency on the busiest part of the network. A new four trams per hour service between Therapia Lane and Elmers End brings the number of trams each hour between Therapia Lane and Croydon town centre up from eight per hour to 12 at peak times. Six new trams form part of the scheme which complements a £23m Mayor’s Fund regeneration package for the area following riots in the area last year.
