Balfour Beatty/Mott MacDonald has won the second of the Highways Agency’s new-style Asset Support Contracts. It involves maintaining 500km of roads in Cheshire, Greater Manchester, Merseyside and south Lancashire.
The contract is worth £300m over five years starting from November, with an option for a three-year extension. Other companies shortlisted were Aone+, the current provider under a Managing Agent Contractor arrangement, Atkins/Skanska, Amey and EnterpriseMouchel.
