Hammond’s ‘promotion’ to defence secretary briefly raises transport’s profile

The departure of Philip Hammond to defence provoked a brief flurry of interest in the role of transport secretary, as his replacement was immediately attacked for being biased against aviation. Rik Thomas reports

It has certainly been an interesting few weeks for (now former) transport secretary Philip Hammond.
