Cheshire East Council is pledging to raise almost 40% of the funding for a £28m road that is in the DfT’s development pool of major transport schemes. The Crewe Green link road scheme is intended to relieve the A534 road in Crewe and open up the Basford East employment site. Cheshire East envisages £17m (61%) of the £27.75m (outturn cost) being met by the DfT, £9m by developers, and £1.75m by the council.
