A chance to discuss the significant changes taking place in road and rail procurement frameworks will be offered in a series of probing discussions being organised by Local Transport Today.
Industry leaders from Network Rail, the Highways Agency, ADEPT, Bircham Dyson Bell, and The Realise Organisation, will meet on 14 July. Participants in the event will explore the frameworks and processes that enhance efficiency and enable cost-effective delivery.
Topics on the agenda include: evaluating strategic alignment; utilising objective behaviour analysis; the value of early contractor engagement; managing performance-based contracts; and the importance of organisational culture and leadership to success.
The challenges and opportunities for the transport industry identified by this working group will be further explored in a series of articles in LTT. The initiative will culminate in a ground-breaking forum in October to present the findings, stimulate further discussion about the implications for contractors, and examine opportunities for applying the experiences of Network Rail and the Highways Agency to other transport commissioning bodies including local authorities, Passenger Transport Executives and national transport agencies.
We are seeking forward- thinkers from the industry to join us on the 14 July to provide further perspectives, including from the supplier sector.
