Transport Minister Norman Baker has written to local authorities outside London encouraging them to start preparing bids to the DfT’s new £560m Local Sustainable Transport Fund.
Baker said local authorities would be able to bid for small packages of under £5m as well as larger packages of up to £50m over the four-year fund period, but only one successful bid would be permitted per authority.
