A South Wales council is blaming ASDA’s free parking policy at a store for undermining a town centre economy and cutting council parking revenues.
Bridgend County Borough Council said ASDA’s decision to make its 560-space car park free for up to three hours had attracted motorists away from other car parks. Louise Fradd, Bridgend’s corporate director for communities, said this had “significantly reduced pedestrian movement” in other parts of the town....
