Travel planners need to understand that people don’t always make rational transport choices

Without wishing to state the obvious – but I will anyway – we are really beginning to see travel plans morph into a commodity product. While we tell everyone that each travel plan is individual and the exact mix of measures is handcrafted to suit the local circumstances, they all increasingly look the same. Is this a bad thing?

Standardisation, such as British Standard’s new Publicly Available Specification (PAS 500) for travel plans will be welcome, but unfortunately guidance...
