The DfT?has invited views on the the European Commission's plans for mandatory CO2 emission targets for new cars.
The Commission's proposals aim to reduce the average carbon dioxide emissions of new cars in the EU to 130 grammes of CO2/km by 2012. The UK is pressing for a longer term target of 100 grammes of CO2/km by 2020.
