Manchester to become ‘rail hub for the north’

Greater manchester is set to become the “rail hub for the north,” according to an announcement by transport minister Rosie Winterton, at Manchester Piccadilly.

Roger Jones, chair of Great Manchester PTA, welcomed the statement, and said it was an exciting prospect. “This is great news for Manchester and the north,” he said.“I am delighted that the government has now asked Network Rail to pursue the Manchester hub as a priority.”
