Wigan offers motorists PayPoint shop payment option

Wigan Council has become the first local authority outside London to enable motorists to pay for parking at local shops as well as by mobile phone.

Wigan has launched the PayByPhone parking service at 12 car parks and three on-street parking locations in its town centre. The phone payment service is being offered alongside pay & display equipment in the car parks and on Library Street, Millgate and Hewlett Street.
