Dublin City Council to increase clamping fees

Dublin City Council has approved plans to increase its clamping fees by 60%. Clamping appeals officer William Keithy told broadcaster RTÉ that, based on the 7m euros (£5.7m) cost of enforcing restrictions, the clamp release fee should rise from 80 euros (£65) to 130 euros (£106).  He said: “Keeping this charge at 1998 levels means that compliant motorists who pay for their parking are effectively subsidising non-compliant offending motorists to the tune of 50...
