Swindon residents set to run parking scheme

Swindon Borough Council is considering a scheme that allows residential parking to be managed by the residents themselves. Under the plan enforcement would still be carried out by the council while residents would be responsible for administration and some areas of policy.

Councillors involved in the cross-party Residents’ Parking Advisory Group said that residents are keen to take on the voluntary role, and have called on council officers to investigate how such a scheme would work.
