Free evening parking aimed to boost Edinburgh economy

Edinburgh City Council is making evening parking free during the annual festival season to support retail businesses in the city centre. Parking will be free from 5pm onwards as part of the ‘Alive after 5’ campaign. There will also be an extension of shopping hours until 7pm. The campaign is a joint initiative by the city council, Marketing Edinburgh and Essential Edinburgh. It runs from 6 August to the start of September, and will be repeated during December for the winter...
