Red tape review to simplify bus lane enforcement

The Department for Transport (DfT) is looking to simplify the process for English local authorities taking over the enforcement of bus lane contraventions from the police. The transfer of responsibilities for an individual authority is currently made by a statutory instrument (a form of secondary legislation).
