Appeals rise in London, reports chief adjudicator

Over 4m penalty charge notices were issued for parking contraventions in London during 2010-2011, according to the latest report from the city’s independent adjudication service.

The Parking and Traffic Appeals Service (PATAS) decided on a total of 69,240 appeals in 2010-11, an increase of 8,161 on 2009-2010.

Appeals decided 2010-11

Parking:  60,165

Bus lane:  1,613

Moving traffic: 7,354

London Lorry Control Scheme: 108

Total: 69,240
