Council to save money with pay freeze and higher parking fees

A Worcestershire council is examining plans that would yield almost a £1m in savings and include a £400,000 increase in income generated through car parking charges.

Wychavon District Council has a presented a draft breakdown of how it intends to save £893,000 by the end of this financial year, and the same amount again by 2013. The council also plans to save £125,000 the year after.
