Camarthen retail car park opened

The first phase of a new £74m retail complex in Carmarthen  opened its doors on 31 May. The development includes a Debenhams department store, 25 stores, an Apollo Cinema and a 950-space car park.

Plans to develop the former Cattle Market were unveiled by Carmarthenshire County Council in 2002 with developers Simons appointed a year later. However, the project was hit by a series of delays, including opposition to the relocation of the nearby indoor market and then to plans to close...
