Mayor should fund 20mph 'default' limits

The London mayor should finance a pilot scheme to look at the benefits of  borough-wide ‘default’ 20mph speed limits, a new report has urged. The study, by the London Assembly transport committee, suggests that mayor Boris Johnson should use some of Transport for London’s road safety budget of about £63m to support the pilot from 2010/11.
