Road user charge poll in Manchester

Greater Manchester’s 10 districts are to hold a referendum on their plans for a £3bn transport investment and congestion charge package.

The councils have agreed that the plans will require the support of at least seven districts. Liberal Democrat-controlled Stockport is one of three councils, along with Conservative-controlled Bury and Trafford that currently oppose the plans....
