Vehicle thieves caught by police capture car that squirts invisible but permanent liquid

Thieves who unwittingly broke into police ‘capture cars’ in Bradford were caught after they were sprayed by a special liquid which is invisible to the naked eye but shows up when exposed to an ultraviolet light source.

Called “Smartwater”, the liquid is virtually impossible to remove from clothing and skin. West Yorkshire Police said its use has led to one man been jailed and the arrest of another.
