The introduction of civil parking enforcement means particularly uncertain times for Wales, where there are calls to reconsider the roll-out on 31 March, reports Geoff Dudley

Tight schedules mean that an insistence on rolling out civil parking enforcement in Wales on 31 March may result in a less than perfect outcome, local authority parking managers have argued. Representatives from 16 of the 22 Wales local authorities, together with delegates from the Welsh Assembly Government, consultants and suppliers, gathered at Caer Beris Manor in Builth Wells in January for the Traffic Management 2004 (TMA) conference.
