Haringey set to discard clamps

A major scaling down of clamping is to be introduced by the London Borough of Haringey.

The new policy means that only persistent parking offenders will be clamped. The council said that in the longer term it intends to stop all clamping in favour of towing away vehicles.

As part of its new ‘fairer’ parking policy, those who overstay in pay & display bays will get a five-minute grace period before they are issued with penalty charge notice. A 10-minute observation period will...
